Wear Pink Pleated Skirt and Oxford shirt to work

Any teachers out there? I don't know about you, but isn't the first day back from Spring Break just an avalanche of "things." One day back and I'm already exhausted! But, my oh my, the weather was just stupendous over break. Though I ended up working through quite a bit of my break, I loved being able to get outside and even shoot some shots with the hubby.

Especially with the sun out, I'm itching for it to be summer already. I'm working on updating my wardrobe to feature more spring colors but I have to work with what I already have. I know I've worn this pleated pink skirt before, but I wanted to make it wearable at work. The best pieces in my closet are ones that I can dress up for a special night and dress comfortably for a day at work. Pleated skirts are great for that.

Spring wardrobe colors to me mean pink, white, yellow, mint and baby blue. Since I've had this blue oxford (outfit staple!) since my fall "back to school" shopping, it was an easy addition to my spring palette. The exact shirt I am wearing is sold out, but I've linked similar below and also a plain blue version of the one I'm wearing. The one I'm wearing has a great cut, making it fitted and flattering. I find a more fitted shirt is best to pair with a more full skirt, like this pleated pink skirt, to balance out the look.

Speaking of balancing out the look, I am in love with my new Monogram Necklace from Jane. Most monogram necklaces are super expensive but Jane's was affordable enough that I took the plunge and I'm so glad I did. I wear it with everything, and we're in luck because they JUST put them back on today!

What do you think? Do you have some date night pieces that you can make wearable at work? Let me know in the comments below!
