Exciting Changes on the Way!

I've got exciting news to share on the blog today! I don't have a new outfit or DIY post for this week (that's not the exciting news, ha!) because I've spent all week working on something I've been contemplating for the last few months.

New Website Coming Soon

I've finally decided to purchase my own domain and transition this blog over to Wordpress.org. This school year has been about changes for my family. We moved to Connecticut, then to Rhode Island, bought a house, became landlords, transitioned jobs and I've been substitute teaching rather than settling into my own classroom. As I explained in this post, these changes have meant all sorts of things for my blog.

There has been a lot of insecurity in the last few months, career-wise and financially. In the end though, it has helped me realize what I really love doing. I love working with students one-on-one in the classroom and I LOVE blogging. Substitute teaching has allowed me to have more time to spend interacting with other bloggers and blogging has been my comfort after a long and stressful day of scrambling to find a lesson plan when there is none and dealing with students who don't know me.

I have realized that I want more for my blog and from my blog. Interacting with other bloggers has helped me see the limits of my own blog. So, this week when I finished up my long-term sub position, I started researching (it's what I do best!). I concluded that it was time I transitioned over to a self-hosted blog on Wordpress. So, starting next week you will be hearing from me coming from www.moretomrse.com.

This is incredibly exciting for me! *insert happy dance* I have, quite literally, holed myself up in my office all week staring at a screen - researching hosting sites, pricing, blog templates, branding, and troubleshooting (oh yes...LOTS of troubleshooting). My Blogger blog did not transition the way I wanted into my new Wordpress blog, which is why I don't have it up and ready to go for this week. In many ways, this transition is a little depressing because it means that after months of growth on my blog, I have to start fresh with my stats. Though my blog posts transferred over, the numbers did not. My page views are back to 0 and I don't have any more popular posts because none of them have been visited on the new site! I'm excited though, because Wordpress has all sorts of plugins to help me grow my numbers all over again and I'm excited because I love figuring out how to tweak my new blog and how to elevate my look as much as I love sharing with you affordable trends for spring (did you see that post from last week?) and which brand I trust for dressing professionally.

I don't want to leave you hanging for outfit posts this week though, so I've gone back to my archives and pulled out a few of my favorite spring looks from last year. I will link to the original blog posts but also include some updated items here in this blog post.
