Bell Sleeves and Tassel Earrings

 

 

 

Pardon the pony tail, but it has been so hot and humid the last few days here in Westerly, RI! Despite the heat I ventured out with some friends to a local farm for ice cream and sunflowers but it was so hot that I think I may need to invest some time into learning how to braid (or research how to deal with hair and humidity)! I've stopped even trying to curl my hair and wear it down, as after 10 minutes I'm overheating and swinging it back up into a pony tail again! So if any of you have tips for how to deal with straight, thick hair in humid weather, let me know in the comment section below!

Jeremy and I went to explore the Marina down from our house for this post. I love the bell sleeves on this top, especially how the sleeves are fitted at the top and then flare out (I will admit, however, that the fitted aspect is not awesome in humidity). The neckline is just perfect, as it hits right at the shoulders without riding up and needing to be adjusted. Normally I would pair this kind of breezy bell sleeve top with skinny jeans (like in this post) but there was no way I was going to wear jeans, even for pictures, in this heat. Instead, I grabbed the shorts from this post and found that I actually really liked pairing jean shorts and bell sleeves.

The pattern on this top is very versatile. I've worn it with my Turquoise Danielle earrings also but since I've already done a pairing with bell sleeves and my Danielle earrings I thought I would bring back some faves from last year. Tassel earrings have been a summer statement staple for the past few summers. These particular tassel earrings are no longer in stock (I wore them here), but Baublebar has new tassel earring designs that are just as fun and will add a pop of color to your jean shorts and bell sleeves!
