Valentine's Date Outfit Ideas

Valentine's Day Date Outfit Ideas

I absolutely LOVE getting dressed up for special date nights! I get excited brainstorming the possibilities, combing Pinterest for inspiration, and trying to make the ideas work with the items I have in my closet. Last year, when my husband said we should go out to dinner for Valentine's day, I knew I wanted this Chicwish skirt (worn here), but I didn't have many ideas about how to wear it. So, when I need inspiration for outfit ideas, I go to Pinterest! Throughout my "research" I saw similar color combinations repeated and certain outfit pieces repeated and I thought, maybe others need some Valentine's date outfit ideas too!

For this post I put together some outfit inspiration based upon the kinds of clothing items and color combinations I saw when I searched last year for Valentine's Date Outfit ideas. Many of these items can be mixed and matched but I have offered some suggestions for what to pair together and have linked some options you could order now and have in time for Valentine's Day. For some retailers like Amazon, Chicwish and Shein, make sure to check the shipping time to make sure you will get it in time! But really, this is a great opportunity to put things you already have in your closet together in a new and fun way. Or, buy one key piece that can help you pull together items you already have. This is a long post, but I hope you find it useful!

Red and Pink

Valentine's Day Date Night Outfit Ideas

Skirts: Pink Skirt (also adorable, and on sale! Or this lighter, airy skirt!) // Red Skirt  (similar, also beautiful red options from Chicwish here)
Set 1 Tops: Red lace // Pink Bow // Red Lace Crop (similar long sleeve) // Pink Crochet Crop
Set 2 Tops: Off the Shoulder Ruffle // Off the Shoulder Top // Similar Striped top // Similar Striped Top 2

I love the look of Red and Pink together, and without Pinterest I never would have put them together on my own. If the Red and Pink combination is too much for you, try some stripes or an off-the-shoulder top. They bring a much more casual feel to a dressy outfit.

Tulle Skirts

White Tulle Skirt Outfits for Valentine's Date

Skirt: White Tulle Here or Here and lovely one here // More great white skirts here and here
Tops: Pink Crochet // Red Ruffle Tank // Pink Bow Blouse
Heels: Sparkle D'Orsay (no reviews but look stunning!) // Pink Bow // Red Lace Up // Red Bow or here (other cute ones here!) // Sparkle Pump (good reviews) // Nude Court Shoe or similar here

Tulle skirts are so romantic and a white tulle skirt can we worn over and over and paired with any number of other colors and patterns. For a Valentine's date, when you pair them with bow heels or sparkles, they are extra girly and fun.

Red Tulle with Black for Valentine's Day Date Outfit

Red Tulle Skirt: Here and Plus version here
Black Tops: Boxy Sequined Tank // Sequined Blouse (longer sleeved version) // Lace High Neck Blouse
Black Pumps: Half D'Orsay Sequined // D'Orsay Pump (also here, can be worn with so many outfits!) // Black Pump

Although I tend to pair a red skirt with a lace top (like this GORGEOUS one), I came across many ideas for pairing red with black for Valentine's Day. It definitely adds a dramatic element!

Dresses that "Wow"

Are you more of a dress girl than a skirt girl? You're in luck. Here are some options I rounded up.

Pink Feather Dress // Red Knee Length Pencil Dress (Update - order regular size, not size up!)

Gold Sparkle or Bow Heels

For special occasions like a Valentine's Day date night or a wedding (both ar coming up for me!), I like to have a pair of special shoes. I have been obsessed with finding a less expensive version of these beauties right here. Some are more expensive, others less. Some have great reviews and others have no reviews at all. Most of these could also be worn to work (except maybe the second from the right on the top row!) to make every day special.

Gold, Sparkle, Bow Heels

Top Row: Kate Spade // Jessica Simpson // Betsey Johnson // Betsey Johnson (these are FINALLY restocked!)
Bottom Row: J.Renee (also here) // Nina // J.Renee
Other options from Amazon: Rampage // Style and Co.

Finally, if this post isn't long enough, I have to add this. Simple, beautiful, comfortable, and affordable.

Lace Blouse // Pink Chiffon Maxi Skirt (update - sold out)

I hope this was helpful to you and that you got some inspiration for how to put together your own Valentine's Date Outfit. I would love to see what combinations you come up with! If you have any questions about retailers or items posted above, feel free to leave me a comment below!
