Navy Blazer with Leopard Scarf

How fun it is to travel! A few weeks ago my husband and I took the ferry to Victoria, BC. There's just something so exciting about a weekend getaway, especially one where I got to ride the waves and use my passport! We left from Port Angeles, WA and spent a little over an hour on the ferry. Even though it was just a weekend, our time in Victoria was wonderful. It's such a great, walkable city. Next time we will definitely walk on to the ferry as most of what we wanted to see was within walking distance of the ferry dock. The highlight of my trip was definitely tea at the Empress Hotel. In fact, I'm drinking a cup of Empress blend right now! 

It was fun to shoot some pictures on our trip. In my Back to School Shopping for Teachers post, the first item I mentioned was a blue blazer so I wanted to make sure to photograph one of the ways I wear my blue blazer. In this outfit I paired it with jeans and booties to show how it can be dressed-down but still classy. I love that blue blazers are so versatile. 

I also want to mention my jeans. I don't know about you, but it is nearly impossible for me to find jeans that fit right, look right and are decent quality at the same time. I haven't worn jeans as much at school this year because I desperately needed to replace mine. I decided to try a more expensive brand in the hopes that they would fit better and last longer. But after returning two pairs and trying on numerous others at Nordstrom Rack, I came to the conclusion that name brand isn't always better. Since American Eagle was still having their buy one, get one 50% off sale, I decided to reorder the pair I love and try a new style. Needless to say, when they came in the mail and I tried them on, it was like Cinderella trying on the glass slipper. Finally, the right fit! This pair is thick, dark, and stretches and lifts in the right places. I love them. If you've never given American Eagle a try, I would definitely recommend this pair.
